Rankin County School District
The Rankin County School District is the 3rd largest public school district in Mississippi. The district office is located in Brandon, Mississippi (USA).
In addition to Brandon, the district serves most of Rankin County, including the communities of Florence, Flowood, Pelahatchie, Puckett, Richland, and Sandhill.

In 2014 board president Cecil McCrory, a former member of the Mississippi Legislature, resigned from his position prior to a federal indictment for corruption activities,〔"(Rankin school board member with ties to MDOC resigns )" ((Archive )). In 2013 the district entered into a federal court settlement with former student Magdalene Bedi that asked it to cease any promotion of Christianity. In 2014 an ceremony for Ranking County School District students who made a 22 or higher on the ACT opened with a prayer.
